The Report: facts and sourcing
Auburn kicker Alex McPherson made a walk-off 34-yard field goal to beat No. 1 Georgia 27-24 in Athens on Saturday, NCAA.com reported.
Georgia led 14-0 before Auburn scored 24 unanswered points. The Bulldogs tied the game at 24 with 2:58 left, but quarterback Gunner Stockton fumbled on a designed run with 1:12 to play, his third turnover of the day after two interceptions. Auburn's Byrum Brown, who ran for 115 yards, then led the Tigers into field goal range.
Georgia became the first No. 1 team to lose in back-to-back weeks since October 1990, NCAA.com reported. It was Auburn's first win in Athens in 31 years and its sixth win ever over a No. 1 team.
