Charged / AccusedRiverview Police Department, Missouri

Torre' R. Dyson

Presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

St. Louis County prosecutors charged Dyson, 26, with sexual conduct in the course of public duty. County police allege that in July he took a woman into custody, brought her to the station without telling his supervisors or dispatch, and sexually assaulted her while she was handcuffed. Investigators say he admitted to sexual contact. He is held on $50,000 cash-only bond.

He was found guilty of deprivation of rights under color of law and falsification of records.

Found responsible / SettlementCambridge Police Department, Massachusetts

Sgt. James Crowley

Internal finding or civil settlement; not a criminal case.

The Boston Globe reported that Cambridge quietly settled, for $1.4 million, sexual harassment complaints filed with the state by three female officers against Sgt. Crowley. The city did not admit wrongdoing. Separately, a 2019 internal investigation found that he sent an inappropriate text message, which he does not dispute, and he received a written reprimand. He is on the Middlesex County "Brady" list of officers with potential credibility issues. Crowley disputes that the text should be described as sexual harassment, and the women's other allegations were never adjudicated.
