The No Kings coalition held rallies on Saturday, Oct. 17, urging supporters to vote early ahead of the Nov. 3 midterm elections. Organizers said there were nearly 3,000 events across all 50 states and Washington, D.C., The Guardian reported.

During the protests, Meta pulled the coalition's official Instagram account and locked out its administrators, a spokesperson told MS Now, according to The Verge. Meta spokesman Andy Stone said on X that the suspension was part of an automated response that sometimes happens when accounts post at "very high frequencies," and that the "automated action was clearly taken in error. Everything is now working as it should and we sincerely apologize."

Bloomberg reported that Meta said the burst of activity that triggered the suspension came from a Claude AI tool. The profile page came back about an hour later after an automated review, and the coalition's admin access was restored later in the day, The Guardian reported. Sen. Bernie Sanders and Sen. Chris Murphy reacted publicly to the suspension.
