Deschutes County, Oregon, on Tuesday released the 911 call Kaylub Giamanco made on Oct. 15 shortly before he entered Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend and fatally shot a 16-year-old who had killed four people with a shotgun, OPB reported. The Associated Press obtained the 78-second recording through a public records request.
"Oh my God, someone's at my daughters' school with a gun. I have a gun, and I will shoot them right now if I have to," Giamanco told the dispatcher, according to OPB. The dispatcher told him not to "do anything" and to let her get an officer there, and asked where the shooter was. "They're on the south side, entering the building right now," he said, adding that the shooter was firing. His end of the line then went silent.
OPB reported the audio largely corroborates the account Giamanco gave in an interview last month. Watchman Report does not name the shooter, who was a minor, or the victims.
