India on Tuesday condemned an attack on the commercial vessel MSV Al Jusufi near Limah, Oman, that killed one Indian national, Anadolu Agency reported. Of the 14 Indian nationals aboard, 13 were rescued, India's External Affairs Ministry said.

"Targeting of commercial shipping and civilian infrastructure in the region must end," the ministry said, calling for de-escalation and a diplomatic solution. Anadolu said at least 22 Indian nationals have been killed since the war broke out.

International Maritime Organization Secretary-General Arsenio Dominguez on Monday declined to confirm that mines had been cleared from the Strait of Hormuz and repeated the IMO's advice against transiting it, Xinhua reported.
