President Donald Trump rallied supporters Saturday on Northern Kentucky University's campus in Highland Heights, about two weeks before the Nov. 3 midterm elections, WLKY reported. He promised that "if Republicans win the House of Representatives and the Senate, I'm going to give all adults, citizens in the United States of America $5,000," calling it the "Trump Dividend." He said tariff revenue and economic growth would pay for it and estimated the cost at about $1 trillion. The AP reported that Trump also touted his power in his second term, saying he could achieve "unbelievable" things.

Trump praised Rep. Andy Barr, the Republican Senate nominee, and attacked his Democratic opponent, Charles Booker, calling him "a communist" and "a laughingstock." Booker replied on social media that the attacks prove "how close this race is, and they're scared." Trump also went after Rep. Thomas Massie, who lost the May primary for Kentucky's 4th District to Trump-backed Ed Gallrein. "Massie, the worst," Trump said. "What a loser he is."

Gallrein focused on national security and party unity, saying, "We cannot allow our internal divisions to weaken us on the global stage." Barr praised the administration's support for coal. Early voting in Kentucky begins Oct. 29. A new NBC News poll released Sunday found only 14% of adults expect to receive the promised $5,000 payment.
